The Rush of New Love: Feeling You in My Veins – A Poem of Instant Connection

The Poem: The Rush of New Love: Feeling You in My Veins – A Poem of Instant Connection

It has been only a couple of days talking to you,
And I am already yours. I don’t know why,
But I’ve started thinking of you every time.
When you don’t respond to the messages,
It feels like I am dying inside.
Maybe I sound crazy, but I let it be,
‘Cause for you, I am and will always be.
\n\n\n\n
I want to tell you everything that I do
From morning until we meet.
You’ve changed everything, and I’ve started feeling
You in my veins, flowing like blood,
Reaching the heart and pumping out love.
I don’t want to deny this moment—
It is the sweetest I have ever lived.
I love expressing how I feel about you.
I may over-text, but please don’t get irate.
I want to start and end everything with you.
I want to see your face before every sunrise.

The Velocity of Affection: When Days Feel Like Decades

This poem plunges us immediately into the dizzying speed of modern connection. In a world of instant messaging, deep emotional bonds can form rapidly. We explore how the poet articulates the overwhelming, visceral rush of new love, characterized by intense longing and immediate emotional ownership after only ‘a couple of days.’
